Reading Group for 18th century novel....

Wed Jun 17, 2009, 1:40 PM
I don't know how many 18th century lovers are reading this, but a friend and I will soon be starting a group read for the late 18th century novel Evelina by Frances Burney. It's an epistolary (letter form) novel, concerning a young woman's debut in London society. If you're interested, the community may be found here : [link]

"But isn't it the same thing not to lie and to tell the truth?" said the boy.

"Certainly not! For to avoid lying you have only to hold your tongue; and do you think that comes to the same thing as speaking the truth?" - Giacomo Casanova
